I am Peter and have always lived in Berlin. I had the idea for a ping pong map in 2006. It happened more and more often that table tennis tables where I wanted to play were occupied.
In order to get a quick overview of where there was an alternative place to play nearby, I created the web app. While the website was initially called berlin-tischtennis.de and was limited to places in Berlin, I changed the name to pingpongmap.net in 2010 and started collecting table tennis tables worldwide on the map.
In 2006, 38 places to play table tennis were entered, mostly by myself. In 2021, there were 2154 locations added, of table tennis players worldwide!
When I'm not playing table tennis , I'm developing websites , exploring the world , taking photographs , climbing mountains or being at the outdoor cinema .
